In our hands-on hypertufa class, anyone can make a beautiful container for the home or garden. Hypertufa, a mixture of peat moss, perlite and vermiculite, makes for a lightweight, porous container - perfect for nurturing plants. During the class, you’ll be able to choose molds from a variety of shapes and sizes to create your container. We’ll also provide all-natural materials such as leaves and herbs that will add interest and texture to the finished product. You’re encouraged to bring a leaf from your favorite tree, or a sprig of rosemary from a good friend’s garden - anything that can add meaning and beauty!
Since hypertufa is a concrete composite, your planter should be allowed to cure so we ask that you leave it with us for one week. As your container cures it will strengthen, ensuring that it will stand the test of time in your garden.
• The class fee is $45.00 (includes all materials)
• Class lasts about two hours and starts at 6:30pm
• Wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting messy, and bring gloves.
